The Engagement

1. Play hooky from work together and be tourists in your own town for the day.

2. After a hard day of reception-hall searching, give your love a long, luxurious foot massage. To make it a sensual affair, try using fragrant massage oil.

3. When pressures from the office and wedding planning seem overwhelming, rent a racy, romantic movie. Pile all your pillows in front of the VCR, stock up on comfort food (think popcorn, licorice or chips and dip) and lose yourself in a classic romance. 4. Propose a toast to your fiancé at a dinner hosted by family.

5. Go on a moonlit picnic.

6. Go to a drive-in movie and make out in the backseat of your car.

7. When tensions are running high during the final days before the big day, make reservations at your favourite restaurant and promise each other you won't talk about the wedding for the entire evening.

8. Run an errand or do a chore for your mate that they've been avoiding, whether it's washing the car or addressing all the wedding invitations.

The Wedding

9. Record or videotape a romantic message and send it to your significant other the night before or the morning of your wedding.

10. Steal another kiss as you walk back down the aisle.

11. En route to the reception, ask your driver to make a detour through a park or scenic spot. Enjoy a few minutes between your wedding and the reception to catch your breath and share a private moment to reflect. Warn your photographer well ahead of time that you plan to make a quick stop!

12. Rent a movable billboard and have a message to your new spouse emblazoned on it. Choose a spot on the route you'll take from the ceremony to the reception.

13. Have champagne flutes engraved with your entwined initials and set them at your places at the head table.

14. Surprise your new spouse by lip-syncing a love song.

15. If you know your intended is nervous, send a note with words of love and encouragement just before the ceremony.

The Honeymoon

16. Co-write a postcard to yourselves and send it to your new home.

17. Scatter rose petals all over your bed.

18. Order room-service for breakfast and treat yourselves to a decadent breakfast in bed.

19. Save ticket stubs, postcards, receipts, menus, coasters, etc., during your honeymoon and make a funky scrapbook together. Mix snapshots with pictures cut out of tour brochures and guidebooks you've collected.

20. Have a special welcome on your arrival home. Whether it's a ride in a limousine with a Welcome Home banner or fresh flowers at your bedside, be sure to tell your love the honeymoon has just begun.
